The Laburnum Arch in Ness Gardens.

June 8th 2010
Our day trip started at Ness Gardens.  It was overcast and 'damp' but that did not spoil our enjoyment of this visit. The gardens were splendid and wealso enjoyed our lunch in the restaurant.
On to Liverpool to have a guided visit round St Georges Hall where Dr Frank Carlyle regaled us with some of the history of this great grade 1 listed building.  We almost made The Liverpool Echo with a headline such as '13 Pensioners Trapped in Lift'  most of the unfortunate escaped shaken but unharmed.  The highlight of our visit here was the short organ recital given by  Geof Ogden.  The sound of this instrument in that place was something special.

The Palm House in Sefton Park.
We enjoyed a short stay in this recently restore attraction to complete our visit to Liverpool.
This interesting and successful day out was completed by an evening meal at the Grange Golf Club in St Helens who treated us to an excellent meal in  beautiful and friendly surroundings.
