Martin Walker and Rob Fernandes visited us on 16 March to give an informative report on the achievements of the 'Heart of Heywood' organisation which is now in its last year after almost 10years of improvements in the town centre area.  Our members expressed our thanks for their work.  We all will look forward to benefitting from the legacies which will remain as their work ends The Pheonix Centre, The New Heywood Sports Centre and the many changes to housing and local amenities which have been achieved by 'Heart of Heywood'

2nd  February Bob Dearden well known local cricket enthusiast presented his excellent talk on local cricket.  This was an excellent entertaining presentation spiced with humourous examples from his earlier teaching career and later reminiscences from the Central Lancashire league as a player, umpire, official and coach.  A sparkling presentation highly recommended.
